We’re very proud to be sponsoring this fantastic local Sportive taking place on the 5th of May. It’s a successful event rapidly growing in popularity. First run back in 2011, the challenging route which starts and finishes at the Kings Arms, Berkhamsted, takes cyclists through the scenic Chiltern Hills. For all the hard work, every entrant will get a goody bag and a bacon roll at the end!
We’re fully involved and will be hosting a Kids’ Bike Event in a marquee outside the Kings Arms in Berkhamsted. You’ll be able to see a range of our lightweight kids bikes, scooters and kids’ cycle clothing. Bring the kids along to try them out for size and ask any questions about cycle safety and teaching young kids to ride a bike. You may find our recent blog post ‘top tips for teaching your child to ride a pedal bike’ useful.
Our very own Simon Timlett has taken on the role of official bike mechanic and will be offering mechanical support to competitors along the way. We’ll also be offering the opportunity for competitors to purchase bike parts, such as inner tubes before you head off.
Entry is £20 and entry forms are available by contacting Oakman Sportive or alternatively, you can enter at The Akeman, Tring, The Kings Arms, Berkhamsted or the Red Lion, Water End – all three pubs will be offering refreshments along the route.
