I cannot rate the Woom 2 highly enough. My daughter went from a balance bike to this and was cycling without stabilisers on her first ride. It has done 2 years and still looks as good as new, the paintwork is really good quality. It’s just been handed down to her brother who has just turned 4 and exactly the same thing – first ride and he was off without stabilisers and without any problems. We’ve upgraded my daughter to the Woom 4. We looked at other brands like Isla, Frog and Squish but Woom was the only realistic choice because it’s served ua so well. They are quite expensive but a worthwhile investment because they work. And they are like hens teeth on the second hand market so hold most of their value.

Honestly, I cannot believe this. Bought the bike for the kids 4th birthday, and we’ve used it 3 or 4 times a week on the nursery run with the pedals off. Balance became pretty good after 2 weeks, and really quite confident after week 4.

Today I thought we’d try with the pedals. We spoke about how this would be hard, how we won’t be able to pedal today but it’s all about learning and don’t be disappointed if you don’t cycle with pedals today.

It took 4 minutes and she was pedalling all on her own for about 50 metres. My jaw was on the floor.

This is how it happened. I held the seat so she could set her feet on the pedals and lifted the rear wheel off the floor, and we spend 3 minutes learning how to pedal around and around rather then forward and backwards. Once she got this I said I’d hold her saddle and not let her fall while she starts. And that was it. Off she went. I just could not believe it. At first she just went in a straight line, but half an hour later she was doing circles.

    I’m genuinely flabbergasted!

We’re glad it worked out so well for your daughter and you David.

    Fantastic bike!
My son has had it for a while now but hasn’t wanted to move on from his balance bike. Then about 2 weeks ago he just from no where said I want to ride my bike with pedals! Age 4years 1 month. So he did – straight away no problem. My husband is really into road cycling and was really impressed when he was putting it together and felt the quality was very good. It’s very light and easy to manoeuvre! My nephew is the same age and riding the strider with pedals and the bike is much heavier and much wider handles so even though it’s more expensive I do think this bike is worth it! It seems to hold up well to scrapes and bumps and is withstanding many falls and drops to the floor!

Additionally the little bike company where great about sending a spare part out when something on it broke which is super handy!

Fantastic quality lightweight bike. I deliberated for ages between this bike and another well-known lightweight brand. I am so pleased that we went for the Woom 2. We have just had to size up to a Woom 3 as my daughter has suddenly grown loads but this time I didn’t even look at other makes of bike. There is literally nothing I can fault about the Woom 2. Rugged tyres great for rougher surfaces, easy-to-operate brake levers and the colour coding is genius, very easy to adjust the handlebars and saddle for a perfect fit. These bikes also look fabulous with their lovely bright colours. My daughter’s Woom 2 has held its value wonderfully so although the initial outlay was quite a lot, the value of these bikes second hand will go a long way towards buying the next size up.

Absolutely fantastic bike. I gave it as a present to my 3 yo daughter and after using it as balance bike for few months she learnt to properly ride it in one day. She loves the bike now, we cant go anywhere without it. I do recommend it if you have the budget, as the light frame meant she could ride it very easily. I am sure it would have been harder for her to learn to ride a heavier bike. It also has other clever details which help a lot.

Riding this bike for 6months now. My daughter was riding this bike after 5 mins after learning on a balance bike. It’s light enough for her to carry and ride over a fair distance for her age (4 years). She is so confident on it. She uses it everyday to get to school and back and I now have to ride with her to keep up! Also gives her the confidence to start to do tricks!!!
It’s well worth the money if you want your child to feel totally in control and to build their confidence.

We bought this bike for our little boy who had just turned 3, who was desperate to ride a bike to keep up with his elder brother (who had the Woom 3). He had spent a year whizzing around on a balance bike. When we got the bike we hoped our son would use it as a balance bike for at least a couple of months; however within a week he was extremely frustrated and want to ride it with the pedals on. On went the pedals and within an hour he had the hang of riding a bike. No one could believe us that our 3 year old was riding and keeping up with his brother!
We did a lot of research before buying the bike and the main difference was the weight. With this bike being lighter than its rivals, our son was able to get going a lot quicker and didn’t struggle with the bike.
This has been the best investment and our opinion the best brand on the market. We now have 2 sons who absolutely love riding down to lightweight cleverly designed bikes.
I would also like to thank Simon and the Little Bike Company for all their advice and help (we did ask a lot of questions) and extremely quick delivery of the bike.

An absolutely fantastic bike. Bought this for our 3 year old and she soon was cycling, to my amazement! Now, after having it for nearly a year she is standing whilst peddling uphill, going down tracks and most importantly has a lot of confidence whilst on her bike.

Would recommend this bike to anyone, in fact my pal bought her son this bike after seeing my daughter on it! It is very easy for children to manoeuvre and is very light (if you do need to carry it). Will move onto the Woom 3 when she outgrows the Woom 2.

My boy is small at 95cms. He has used a. A balance bike before but he literally was riding without help on his very first go.
The bike is excellent quality it’s so light he rides up hills without me having to carry it!!
Excellent packaging and easy to set up. A small investment to get your child properly into biking at an early age.
Just buy it you will not be disappointed

Really fantastic! I don’t usually bother to review things but we’ve been so pleased with this! Bought it for our daughters 4th birthday, pre-ordered it so expected it to take up to a month for delivery but it came extremely quickly. It only required minimal assembly and the company had helpfully fitted the additional kickstand that we ordered, so it took no time to get it up and running. Great service, thank you! It’s a pricey bike but we thought it would be worth it to get a lightweight bike as our little girl is quite small and thought she would be put off by something heavy. 100% worth the cost! Well made, very smart looking. And the weight definitely helped our daughter feel instantly happy manoeuvring it. She had a balance bike previously, so we used it without pedals as a balance bike for a couple of weeks till she was used to it, and then after another week or so supported by mum and dad she was off pedalling on her own! She picked it up so much quicker than I expected and I think that is in large part down to the easy steering and weight of the bike, it really helped her confidence. She is also far happier using the brakes on this than she was on her previous bike. Really delighted that we stumped up the extra for this bike, and the quality looks great so I’m sure it will last for our son to use when he’s bigger too.

My son went straight from a balance bike to a Woom 2 and was riding it in no time at all. It’s a fantastic little lightweight bike and well worth the investment, he has got so much use out of it. Because it’s light enough to carry, we could go on longer walks and take him on his bike, pushing him up hills and carrying the bike when necessary. He’s still using it now aged 5 and a half although ready to move on now. The resale value seems good so hoping to get a bit of the investment back for the next Woom up. The Little Bike Company are very friendly, initially we had the pedals off so it was like a balance bike but by the time he’d been round the car park a few times I could see he’d be onto pedals very quickly so put them back on. No trouble at all for them.

Best bike around for little’uns – Light and very easy to ride. My son progressed from a balance bike to the Woom2 (without needing stabilisers) and it didn’t take him long at all, which I would put down to the design of the bike (very light and easy to ride). Also benefits from a chain guard and colour coded brakes which really help when teaching how to brake correctly. Only downside is your child will fall in love with biking and won’t ever want to come off it….

The Woom bikes are just incredible. Low centre of gravity, higher bar, a beautiful look, very lightweight, and little details that make it a joy for my 4 year old to ride. Just upscaling to the Woom 3. The best bit for me – who has loved biked all my life – is you don’t see any others out and about. It’s a very special piece of engineering. Get it!

Stylish and modern designed bicycle for our little ones. Due to the ergonomic design this little light-wight bike made it easy for our son to learn how to cycle. I would also like to point out how fantastic the service of thelittlebikecompany is. They made sure , even on short-noticed, that we get our birthday present delivered in time. Thank you again for that help.

Awesome bike for little people. Bought it for my little boys 3rd birthday. He’d had a balance bike so he’d gained his confidence and balance on that but I was certain a lightweight upgrade would be the way to go. On his 3rd birthday he had it nailed within 15 minutes and cycled the mile to collect his big bros. with no problem. The upright stance has definitely been a benefit, as i know my older child complained his hands hurt on more traditional mountain bike stance bike. The lightweight frame has helped him keep up with his brother and the ergonomic seating position has, I believe, enabled him to go so much further more comfortably. A great first pedal bike. Considering the 4 for his big brother!

We got a woom 2 for my wee boy for his christmas. Without exaggeration I can say it was the best purchase I have ever made. The price was quite high, more than you’ll spend on many other bikes in the same category, but it really is excellent.
I took him out on his bike for the first time on boxing day and he was cycling hiself within 15 minutes. from a standing stop. I’m still amazed. This was him just turned 3.
I think it’s dead important that We’d got my boy a balance bike for christmas the year before. he waddled around with it between his legs for months but then, at some point during the summer it just clicked and he was scooting around happy as.
But many of his friends were the same. The biggest differnce I can see is the weight of the bike. The woom 2 is about 5 kg. I see so many kids on bikes weighing as much as 10 kg. that difference is enormous when the kid is only 12-15 kg. I cant imagine riding a 60 kg bike!
But there’s other things which have been important over the last few months: the brake levers are differnt colours which means I can talk to him about the green and the black brakes when he doesn’t know his left from his right. There’s this little rubber bit under handlebars which pulls at the steering if he trys to turn too sharply, this is amazing because oversteer is the main reason he’ll crash. The gear ratio is quite high, means he struggles up hills a bit but also means he goes real fast on the flat which makes the bike loads of fun.
I love this bike. I’m evangelical for it. I’ve posted to reddit many timea about its virtues. I worry I may be overselling it sometimes. But at 3.5 my boy just cycled the 8 mile Rob Roy Loop himself (walking the bike up the steeper sections at the start) and I genuinely believe it’s because he has the right tool for the job. I can’t recommend this enough.
